Cosplay On the Streets of Baltimore – What happens when over 20,000 cosplayers are forced to leave their convention

Over 20,000 cosplayers hit the street yesterday, after the convention center’s alarms sounded, and they were told to leave the building.

This caused a mass of people to swarm the streets of Baltimore…most of them still wearing their costumes.

The cosplayers caused traffic and confusion to pedestrians as more than 20,000 had to exit the building. There were even a few violent confrontations from the hysteria. One instance we saw was an officer in an unmarked car came close to a pedestrian. The pedestrian struck his car and the officer got out of his car, shoved his badge in his face, and screamed at the man before hurrying to the scene.

After a couple of hours, all things were back to normal in Baltimore, and all of the cosplayers went back inside of the convention center for Otakon.

  1. I remember this. I was watching the "Welcome to the space show" premiere and then after the movie is over and heading for the exit, I start to see a light coming from the fire alarm thing. It was pretty crazy stuff there. xD
